They’re messing around online one night, and start talking to a mystery person in a chat room. Risk follows the story of Taylor and her best friend Sierra. It’s a book you want to have on your bookshelf aesthetically. Nothing’s more annoying than when you have a certain expectation of a book looking at the cover, and then being bitterly disappointed and straight up confused when the cover has nothing to do with the story. It’s nice to know that people know what they’re doing in making the cover. It’s pretty, fresh, and having read it, 100% perfect. I do need to talk about the cover before going on about the story because I’m all about covers. I initially heard about this book through Penguin’s Teen YA book event thingie, and I was like “Australian author? Young adult? Pretty cover? I’m in”.
